Jamie Boynton

Known for his attention to detail and fine application of tools and technology, Jamie is regarded as one of New Zealand's leading contemporary Māori artists. Jamie completed his dgree in Visual Communication and Design in Wellington (BDes 1996), and has received many awards from an Art and Design career that spans over twenty years. Jamie has Māori (Ngāi Tūhoe, Te Whakatōhea), English, Scottish and German ancestry, and he draws upon his indigenous roots as a foundation for creativity and innovation. Jamie believes cultivating a greater appreciation of our identity is fundamental to creating a better world.

Jamie is currently living with his whānau in their ancestral homelands of Mataatua, in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. He enjoys working as a lead creative in the fields of advertising and design, as an arts educator, and creating iconic contemporary New Zealand art and Design.
